Within NIVEL, intervention studies usually take place in allied health care and in research into nursing care. Topics of research include the long-term effects of ‘graded activity’ in people with osteoarthritis, and the effects of Australian sheepskins on bedsores in patients in nursing homes. Research is also done into the effects of, for example, the National Action Programme for Sport and Exercise.
