Illness and health are not just an important factor influencing health care demand, they constitute one of the outcomes of care as well. Trends in the incidence and prevalence of conditions are monitored annually by means of data from the LINH-network. In the field of infectious diseases specifically, the CMR sentinel stations are filing weekly reports on influenza. This contributes in part to the understanding of the efficiency of the Dutch vaccination programme.
