NIVEL has been supporting WHO Euro with the surveillance of influenza in Eastern Europe since 2008.

As part of NIVEL's support to WHO Euro, John Paget chaired a round table discussion on sentinel versus universal surveillance for influenza and Liana Martirosyan gave a presentation on sentinel surveillance and early warning of respiratory illness in the Netherlands.
