The biannual conference of the European Primary Care Forum in 2010 will explore a number of critical themes for primary care. Its aim is to enable participants to identify, define and appreciate the significance of questions -ranging from policy to organization, management and clinical care - which are likely to determine the future of primary care in Europe. The Forum is looking to support contributions which address, in particular, issues of equitable access, cost-effectiveness, service delivery, clinical quality and the maintenance of continuity of care. Both urban and rural settings are relevant, with their differing but equally important modern pressures.
The conference scientific committee invites submissions of abstracts for oral, poster and multi-media presentations related to the issues and themes of the conference. Submissions should follow one of the following formats:
- Research abstracts: These presentations will provide the results, completed or in advanced in-progress form, of original research projects. The material should not have been published elsewhere, except in preliminary form, and it should be ready for publication as a journal article. Papers related to PhD projects, either completed or in progress, are especially encouraged. The selected abstracts will discussed within workshops that are moderated by key-experts in the specific theme.
- Policy posters: These posters describe significant developments in policy (whether governmental, organizational, or any other) that affects primary care associated with the themes of the conference. Posters with clear statements for debate are especially encouraged. The selected posters will be publically presented / defended within innovative settings, such as “debate corners”, animated by an expert facilitator.
- Practice multi-media presentations: Projects and developments focusing on practice-oriented questions and reporting on recent experiences and innovations in primary care. These presentations should present case descriptions of primary care on the national, regional or local level. The selected multi-media presentations (video’s, slide-shows, etc.) will be presented to introduce the themes in the workshops and in a special session with different multi-media materials.
Deadline for submission: Saturday, 1st of May 2010
