Changes in the urgency of contacts with the GP cooperative 2013-2016

The number of high-urgent contacts at the GP cooperative increases. In order to investigate the causes of this increase, quantitative insights are needed into the health problems that lead to a high urgency estimation.

1) Which reasons for encounter led to an allocation of urgency U1 and U2?
2) Which follow-up actions are chosen in case of urgency U1 and U2 per reason for encounter?
3) How often did the triagist deviate from the triage outcome in case of urgency U1 and U2 per reason for encounter?
4) To what extent do the results of previous research questions differ between different GP cooperatives for the top 10 reasons for encounter with urgency U1 and U2?

Analysis of electronic patient records routinely maintained by GPs on GP cooperatives participating in the NIVEL Primary Care Database, from 2013-2016.

The study leads to more insight into the extent to which the urgency assessment has changed in recent years. This can give direction to any further investigation into the causes of the increase in the number of contacts with high urgency.
