The current and potential position of speech therapists in Dutch elderly care

The position of speech therapists in elderly care will become more important to meet the complex demands and individualization of elderly care in the Netherland
What is currently the role of speech therapists in elderly care, what is their target group and treatment focus? How can collaboration of speech therapists with other elderly care professions be extended and improved, to enlarge their role in inbound and outbound elderly care?
Existing literature and data sources will be analyze to describe the current role of speech therapists in elderly care. Specific analysis using NIVEL registration data from general practices will be performed. Scenario workshops on the future potential role of the speech therapists in elderly care will be organized, including all relevant stakeholders. Results will be validates through a survey among members of the Dutch Association for Speech Therapists
The report will describe and summarize all results from the different research steps. Which will provide input for policy agenda on elderly care for the Dutch Association for Speech Therapists
