Palliative care for patients with cancer and their relatives: Is the provision of primary care in concordance with their needs?

Collaboration and concordance between general practitioner-home care service-patient-family is necessary for the provision of the highest possible quality care for patients with progressive cancer.

To what extent is the palliative care provided by general practitioners and home care services in concordance with the care and support needs of patients with progressive cancer and their relatives?

Questionnaires will be conducted among patients with progressive cancer, their relatives, general practitioners and nursing staff in home care. Additionally, qualitative interviews will be conducted among patients and relatives.

Based on the project results, recommendations for practice and policy will be provided to optimize the concordance between the needs of patients and the provision of palliative oncological primary care.
