The recognition and addressing of limited pharmaceutical literacy (RALPH)

More than 10 % of the Dutch population has limited health literacy. High health literacy is of great importance in order to understand , for example, medication side effects and instructions for use.

The goal of this project is to develop and validate an appropriate screening tool to measure health literacy in the pharmacy and the mapping of specific medication- related problems in patients with limited health literacy.

1. To develop a screening tool for health skills related to medication use (' pharmaceutical literacy ")
2. Testing and valdieren this instrument n pharmacy setting and study the association between medication-related problems and health skills.
3. Compose toolbox “pharmaceutical literacy"

A toolbox for pharmacies including a screening tool to identify limited health literacy and advices for guidance of these patients.
