Given the importance of optimal ICS use in asthma and the lack of insight into the extent to which healthcare providers communicate in a potentially adherenceenhancing, patient-centered way at the community pharmacy, studies were initiated into patients’ and pharmacists’ beliefs and communication about ICS and adherence.
The overall aim of this thesis is to explore patient-provider communication about ICS during counseling sessions at the community pharmacy and to take a closer look at factors that may relate to the patients’ adherence to ICS.
