For the past 15 years (2005-2021) I have worked at Radboudumc Nijmegen the Netherlands as a researcher, an assistant and an associate professor respectively at the department of Anesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Medicine. I was a cofounder of the Palliative care expert center in Nijmegen in 2005 and also worked as a projectleader for the national palliative care programme in the Netherlands on behalf of the Dutch Federation of University Hospitals. For this Federation I also lead on several other projects (medical education, national science agenda healthcare). As a senior researcher I have been PI at granted research proposals, contributed to over 60 pubmed registered publications and supervised researchers. Before my research career, I have been active as a policy worker and project leader in several mental healthcare organisations.
2000: completed master in health policy management (Erasmus University, cum laude)
2007: completed master in applied ethics (Utrecht University)
2010: completed PhD defense in palliative care at Radboudumc
2016: completed global clinical scholars research programma (1 yr) at Harvard Medical School, USA
