The findings in this dissertation indicate that perceived exposure is an independent determinant of NSPS and should be taken into account in future epidemiological studies on EMF and NSPS. The combination of self-reported and medical registry data is very useful in gaining insight into the health status of the examined sample and symptomatic effects in relation to environmental exposures. It is also an important asset for the minimization of outcome misclassification that often occurs in observational studies. Despite the lack of evidence between EMF and NSPS in the population, the need for better exposure characterization remains in order to draw more solid conclusions.
