This study explores whether and how access to financial products could be improved for persons with a history of cancer by actions at EU level and/or within Member States. In this study the term ‘financial products’ is used to refer to personal insurances, such as life insurances, and loans or credits. An important element of this study is to explore what type of financial products are in particular difficult to access for persons with a history of cancer and would therefore be relevant to address in (policy) actions at national or EU level.

The research questions guiding this study are:
1. What measures are in place or are being developed in Member States to address and improve access to financial products for persons with a history of cancer?
2. What are the views of Member States and stakeholder audiences regarding the need for national and/or EU level action on the topic of access to financial products for persons with a history of cancer; and if considered necessary, through which types of non-legislative and/or legislative measures?
