In week 02/2004, widespread influenza activity (that is, activity above seasonal baseline levels in one or more regions comprising 50% or more of the country’s population) was reported in Norway and Switzerland, and regional activity (that is, activity above baseline levels in one or more regions comprising less than 50% of the country’s population) was reported in France and Romania. Local or sporadic activity was reported in the rest of Europe.
