This large-scale study describes the way in which physical therapists currently inform, instruct and advise their patients. The study is based on 2000 audiotaped sessions of physical therapy treatments and 1600 patient questionnaires. The results show that patients receive much
information and advice during treatment but that patient's compliance is unsatisfactory. The study shows which factors are related to patients' non-compliance. Finaly the book gives an explanatory model for short-term and long- term compliance.
