Summary of the presentations and discussion Integrated care aims at safeguarding the accessibility, quality and continuity of care for users with complex health needs, through collaboration and cooperation of different professionals and health care sectors. The study presented by Ingrid Mur-Veeman has shown that in all the six European countries that were compared, policymaking takes place on the development of integrated care. The countries studied were Finland, Sweden, Austria, Spain, The Netherlands and England. Both in the types of policies and in the practice of integrated care -the way it is implemented in different systems- the study shows similarities and variation.
