Currently, a European Research Area network (ERA-NET) research programme – within Horizon 2020 – is being developed in the area of health services and systems research. It focuses on two meta-questions
1) Under what conditions can healthcare innovations be effectively transferred to other countries?
2) How can this enhance health systems performance?
In terms of substantive topic areas, ERA-NET will focus on the organisation of services throughout the entire chain of care, ranging from public health and prevention to hospital and long-term care.
